The error message that I get says Forbidden
Any recommendations?

Not sure what it might be. I’d need more details to understand what’s going on.
Sure, what information can I give you so that you can see the issue?
This is the error:
[Media Sync] error
E:
ForbiddenSo I guess it’s when “Import Selected” is clicked.
Does it happen right away or it’s loading and after some time? Does it happen for every file you try?
Which PHP version you have and which WordPress version?
Does it maybe interfere with some other plugins? Disabling all other plugins can clear this dilemma. Also, does it work when “Dry run” is kept checked?
Does it happen right away or it’s loading and after some time? it happens right away. Started happening after the plug-in was updated
Does it happen for every file you try? yes
Which PHP version you have and which WordPress version? 7.3
Does it maybe interfere with some other plugins? It was working until the most recent update
Also, does it work when “Dry run” is kept checked? No, it doesn’t.
Started happening after the plug-in was updated
Oh, this is very useful information! Thank you
I’ll compare recent changes to see what might be causing this.
I’ll update this topic once I have some more info. And I’m now also working on better error handling, so we can see more details about what went wrong.
I deactivated all of the plug-ins and the issue persist.
I am using WP Version 5.5.1
And Media Sync Version 1.2.0Hey @kshines1, thanks for the details.
Sorry if we have to go back and forth to figure it out, but I can’t replicate it on my end. So I’m kind of fixing it blindly, based on some guesses I can come up with.
I just pushed version 1.2.1, so you can update it and try again. Maybe also try to clear browser cache. And please let me know how it went.
Thank you,
ErolHey @erolsk8 – I just had the same issue. With 1.2.1 AND clearing the browser cache, it works again. Thanks!
I did those steps and I got this error:
[Media Sync] Attachment metadata could not be generated (
wp_postmetatable).
E:@kshines1 – I had the same error. This fixed it for me: Clear browser cache again, reload plugin page, rescan and then start importing. Unfortunately, for a couple of folders, I had to do this more than once.
Hi @lohmi, great! At least it’s working for someone 😀
And @kshines1, I guess that’s the same issue discussed here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/files-not-importing-or-loading
But I still can’t replicate it on my end, I also have PHP 7.3, WordPress 5.5.1 I’m trying locally and also on the server. But it still works for me.@erolsk8 – it seems, like the plugin runs into an error at some file, and keeps a wrong count for the remaining files. Once I clear the cache, the remaining count is one less before, and it runs either to the end or it hits another file that causes the above mentioned “[Media Sync] Attachment metadata could not be generated (wp_postmeta table).”.
At least with clearing cache I do have a workaround. 🙂
