We have a single WordPress installation where both our clients and internal team members access the platform.
Our site is primarily in English, but the UI elements (buttons, titles, menus) and system notifications (emails, alerts, warnings) must be displayed in the user’s selected language (Turkish, English, Spanish).

Our content itself does not need translation — most posts and board descriptions are already in English — but:

    1. UI labels and headings should automatically adapt to the user’s language preference.
    2. Fluent Boards system emails (task updates, comments, assignments) should be sent in the language the user has selected.
    3. FluentAuth login, registration, and verification emails, as well as OTP/magic link messages, should also follow the user’s selected language.
    4. Alerts and warnings inside the dashboard should be multilingual.

    Could you please advise on:

    • The best practice for enabling full multilingual UI and notification support for both plugins.
    • Whether Fluent Boards and FluentAuth natively detect the user’s selected language from WPML/Polylang or require manual string translation setup.
    • If email templates can dynamically adapt to the logged-in user’s language setting.
    • Any hooks or filters available to customize this behavior.

We aim for a clean multilingual experience without duplicating boards or user data.

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

    Hello @swordbros,

Fluent Boards can’t automatically detect a user’s language or switch the interface and notifications on the fly for each user. The available approach is to translate the plugin strings. For the translations to take effect, you must set the WordPress site language to the corresponding translated language.

Currently, Fluent Boards can’t detect a user’s language from WPML or Polylang, and it can’t send system emails in different languages. Email templates are sent in English by default, and there aren’t hooks or filters to tailor them to each user’s language.

    Thank you
