recall this plugin used to work correctly before. Why has it stopped uploading? Interestingly, if I upload a file from another plugin first, it seems the original plugin then properly converts it to inline SVG afterward.

I recently had to make some more aggressive upload checks to address security concerns.
Would be nice to give me the opportunity to address your issue specifically by opening a support thread rather than a 1 star review. Pretty brutal response to something I can fix for you if you share your SVG and or all the details to reproduce.
