    Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue with my WordPress site’s RSS feeds not displaying the full number of posts, even after updating settings. Specifically, the following feed:

    https://abwe.org/blog/author/alex/feed/

    • When viewing the feed in a browser, it only displays the latest 10 items.
    • When validating the feed via the W3C validator, I can see the full list of posts going much further back.
    • I’ve already adjusted Settings > Reading to show the last 250 items in RSS feeds, but this change hasn’t taken effect.
    • During import, the feed still only pulls 10 items instead of the full set.
    • I’ve also tried appending a query string (e.g., ?a=b) to bypass potential caching issues, but the issue persists.

Could this be a theme or plugin conflict, or is there another setting that might be overriding the global feed limit? Let me know if you need further details.

    Thanks,
    Alex Kocman

    Hi,

The number of posts displayed in your WordPress RSS feed is controlled by a setting in your WordPress dashboard. Here’s how to change it:

    1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Go to Settings > Reading.
    3. Find the “Syndication feeds show the most recent” option. This is where you can set the number of posts to include in your feed.
    4. Change the number to your desired value.
    5. Click “Save Changes”.

    Important Considerations:

    • Default Setting: By default, WordPress sets this value to 10. If you haven’t changed it before, your feed is likely showing only the 10 most recent posts.
    • Performance: Displaying a very large number of posts in your feed might affect the loading speed of your feed and potentially your website. Consider a reasonable limit.
    • Feed Readers: Some feed readers might have their own limits on how many items they display, regardless of your WordPress settings.

If you’ve followed these steps and your feed still isn’t showing all the posts you expect, there might be other issues at play. Here are some further troubleshooting steps:

    • Check for Errors: Validate your feed using a feed validator tool like the one provided by the W3C. This can help identify any formatting errors that might be preventing some posts from showing up.
    • Plugin Conflicts: Deactivate your plugins one by one to see if any of them are interfering with the feed generation.
    • Theme Issues: Switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-Three) to see if the problem is related to your current theme.
    • Permalinks: Sometimes, resetting your permalinks can resolve feed issues. Go to Settings > Permalinks and simply click “Save Changes” to refresh them.

    Kind regards,
