@mgrist – Do you recall what version of NextGEN Gallery you were using when this last worked as expected? I suspect this may be a theme issue and how it integrates the NextGEN Featured Image more so than anything else and may be a case where the theme author may need to look at this as well.

    Thanks!

Hi Cais, thanks so much for your quick reply. No I am very sorry I don’t recall which version of NextGEN I was using. But the date of the last published post which works is January 2017. My theme is Catch Adaptive Pro and I am using a child version. I checked and there is a small update (2.4.1 up from 2.4) which I have just applied. I refreshed the pages and the featured image is still not showing. I guess the next step would be for me to approach the Catch team, would that be right? Thank you

UPDATE. I found that the images I put in using the normal WP post edit interface were not present in the ngg_featured folder. So I am in the process of manually FTP’ing them into the ngg_featured folder. This appears to be a workaround that is actually doing the job. A bit klunky tho’. 😉

@mgrist – I’m happy to read you found a work-around. It does seem to be some sort of theme integration although I am not familiar with the Catch Adaptive Pro code to know what might be “missing” causing you to need to work around this issue as you are describing.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
