Favorites on post

Plugin allows users to save/favorite products. I would like to be able to allow posts to be favorited as well. Is this possible using any hook/filter. If not, then is there any way to migrate the saved favorites of the users who currently use this functionality to a new plugin that allows favorites on all post types?
