Updating from the version 3.17.1 to any higher version (tested up to 4.0.0) produces a fatal error on my site (built with elementor pro and other plugins, wp 6.7.2.).

did you have any similar cases?

    Hi @horiamar ,

Glad you reached out! Happy to help.

Since it crashes when you update, I would recommend keeping your current version of GiveWP on the live site and then troubleshooting the problem on a staging site.

We’ve had some reports of fatal errors when updating, although, since you are updating from version 3.17.1, there might be plenty of causes for why this is happening. On the staging site, can you deactivate all the other plugins except for GiveWP and then try updating?

If you’re able to update to the latest version, the fatal error might’ve been from a conflict with another plugin. Activate your plugins one by one and if it crashes, please let me know what plugin caused it.

If that doesn’t work, please send along the PHP error logs from the fatal error that happens when you update. If you don’t know how to get error logs, you can use the Fatal Error Notify plugin, but after activating it you’ll have to trigger the error again to see it. Sporadically, that doesn’t work, so you can ask your host where to find the PHP error logs on the server, then copy/paste the relevant error in your reply.

Furthermore, in your next reply, please send along your System Info.

Navigate to Donations → Tools → System Info (tab) and click the button to “Get System Report” and copy/paste that in your reply here.

That will give me some more context to be able to help.

Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!

    Hi @horiamar ,

It’s been a while since we’ve heard back, and I know troubleshooting needs a little extra time. I’m marking this as resolved for now, but if you still have questions, you can send them along right here, and I’ll be happy to hop back in.

    Have a great day!
