Hello there, Sebastian from Jetpack here. I hope you are doing well.
I can see an error with the connection between your site and Jetpack. You’ll need this connection working for Jetpack to function correctly for most of its features, including Jetpack Boost features.
To be more specific, we are seeing a 403 error code; you can read more about the error here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Status/403
As a first step, you should contact your hosting provider and ask them to check their security logs to see if they are blocking or otherwise limiting incoming and outgoing connections over XML-RPC. Jetpack uses this file to communicate with your site, but some hosts block connection requests to that file. To make sure this is not an issue, please ask them to whitelist the IP addresses listed on this page:
https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-allowlist-jetpack-ip/
Additionally, please verify that you have no security plugins activated that may be blocking our requests.
Please let us know when you have completed that, and we can test the connection again.Warm regards,
whitelisted ips in jetpack allow list..xml-rpc is unblocked……i did go into wp database in phpadmin and wpoptions and stopped some autoloads and the problem started then, I don’t know what to look for to turn back on if this doesn’t work.
Hi @howardjosephs,
Thanks for the update.
Based on your reply, it looks like some Jetpack settings may have been removed or broken when editing your
wp_optionstable.To fix this, you can either:
- Restore the original values for any Jetpack-related options, or
- Try resetting Jetpack using the Jetpack RM Options plugin:
Steps:
- Go to Jetpack in your dashboard and disconnect if you’re currently connected.
- Deactivate Jetpack via Plugins.
- Install and activate this plugin to clear Jetpack data:
https://github.com/automattic/jetpack-addons/archive/add/jp-rm-options.zip - Once done, re-activate Jetpack, Jetpack Boost, and other standalone plugins and connect it again.
Let us now how it goes.
Hey there @howardjosephs
This sounds like a conflict between Boost and something specific on your website.
Can you drop us a message via our help page? Make sure to include a link to this thread so we can find it easily.
I’d love to take a closer look.
Did everything suggested still not working, waiting on godaddy to see why installatron isnt connecting also since there’s a correlation with the two also.
Hi @howardjosephs –
Thanks for giving that additional troubleshooting a try
Let us know what you find out from your host.
Hello @howardjosephs,
Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
