Facebook Down / Site Slow

    Our site takes 1-2 seconds to load. Today 20-30 seconds? No server load, crazy traffic, etc. Then saw FB was down across the web… Anyhow, disabling this plugin brought site speed back to normal immediately. There is no doubt it was the culprit.

    Is there any way that the devs can put a time-out (like Sucuri does when it can’t make a connection) that kills the FB plugin when FB might be slow/down??

    Yes please! Our site is suffering from insanely slow loads due to Facebook being down with this plugin installed.

    Hi Facebook and WooCommerce developers,

    I have a question for you: why your plugin doesn’t check if Facebook API are available before communicating with them??

    It is pretty obvious that before or later something on Facebook will go wrong, but this doesn’t mean that my and others website should go offline as well.

    Good poingt and yes there is.

    I have a question for you: why your plugin doesn’t check if Facebook API are available before communicating with them??

    I am no developer but I know that can be done. Would you happen to already have a draft implementation for this @ wmsas?

    @conschneider thanks for your replay.

    I have only a little knowledge of programming, so I haven’t a draft implementation for the feature.

    But I’m sure that expert developers at Automattic and Facebook can do that in a matter of minutes.

    So, can you pass the implementation request to the dev department, please?
