• I received a warning about the auto-update of Wordfence. (free version) This would not be possible without some extra code to be added to the .htaccess file. In there there should be a line that says “# BEGIN WordPress” ???? The code should be placed above this line.
I can find no such line in the file. What am I missing here?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @hjakruijthof, thanks for your question.

The # BEGIN WordPress and # END WordPress markers are commonly added to .htaccess by WordPress for things like enabling permalinks. I would double-check if it appears in another .htaccess file elsewhere in your WordPress site’s folder, just in case that’s the one your site is using instead.

We suggest looking for that line just to make sure customers add the Litespeed code in a suitable place, so if you have a blank file or other contents, you may be able to place it near the top (above any # Wordfence WAF lines or references to <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>) and it still be functional. If you’re unsure, your host may be able to assist.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

Thanks Peter! I’ll look for others .htaccess files.

If you don’t hear from me again (on this subject) I’ve managed to find the one I need.

    Regards from the Holland,
    Henk
