On the assumption that you missed a step, give it another go. We can’t see your new site because you have a coming-soon thingie.
I did the export/import steps 3 times. It’s pretty simple and I am pretty sure I did it all. I will try once more. How do I get the coming-soon thingy to go away?
Ok, I did it all again and Launched my site. Still just shows the new site and none of my old content, pages, etc.
If you look at the file you exported, is the post/page content there? If not, you need to ask the wordpress.com people about it. If so, then let’s talk.
Below are some snippets of what is in the XML file. It appears everything is in the file.

Please do not post large code or responses like that here, it doesn’t work after ~10 lines or so.
If you need share that data please use https://pastebin.com/ instead and post the link to that paste.
How are you importing it to the self-hosted site?
I am just going into TOOLS>IMPORT and then selecting my XML file I exported from my WordPress hosted site. During the export process I made sure the EXPORT ALL FILES box was checked. So after importing when I click on the Media in the menus, it shows all my photos from my blog. But when I go to Posts or Pages, none of that seems to have imported.
Ok, so far, so good. When it comes to the step where it says “Import data from this file into…” and then my options are “New Items” or “Existing Items” and then my choices in those drop-downs are Posts, Pages, etc. What do I select?
