‘Export to’ not working

I’ve used this plugin a lot without problem.
But on a new site, at a client’s host clicking the Export to button doesn’t do anything and I don’t get the normal options.
Could the host company have set parameters to make backup and restore unavailable? Has this happened to anyone else?
As it’s on an admin page I’ve not listed the url
