Escaped Quotes

If a text or text area contains quotes, the system escapes them.
This is a /”test/”.
I get this, database safety.

But, if the form fails, or you return to a page in Multi-Step, the forward slash remains. Is there a way to Strip Slashes if the data is reposted to a page?
