Error messages

Hi,
I’m a bit perplexed by this issue, as I run a localhost with the site working properly and no errors with
define('WP_DEBUG', true);in wp-config.php, yet when I push to my testing server at /alpha, I receive the error messages:Warning: fopen(C:/xampp/htdocs/opticolour/wp-content/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/content-aware-sidebars.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4785
Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4788
Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4791
How can I fix this?

I should also add that if I disable every plugin except CAS, the error messages still remain. An additional message appears as they are being deactivated/activated:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php:4785) in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1210Thank you for reporting this.
If you haven’t already, could you check and see if the file
wp-content/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/content-aware-sidebars.phpexists on the server?I’m experiencing the exact same error and scenario as @sublimebydesign.
It worked fine locally, but now that I’ve exported my local DB and imported it to my new remote DB, I get this error while debug mode is on. I’ve also run a standard search and replace on the data in this process.
I tried deactivating and removing the plugin and data, optimizing the DB and reinstalling, but I still have the issue, with an additional unexpected output warning:
“The plugin generated 626 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin”
Yes, the file exists with 2366Kb size. As a workaround, I deactivated the plugin on localhost, ‘pushed’ to my /alpha test site, then activated the plugin. It is now working, but I’d like to know what the issue is if it’s something other than simple file corruption, as it will affect whether I use it on other sites. I hope you understand. Great idea for a plugin though 🙂
Thank you for checking, I just wanted to make sure that wasn’t the problem before looking at anything else 🙂
I use something called Freemius to collect data to improve the plugin (only if you opt-in), and it looks like it stores the full path to the plugin in the database, so that might be the issue.
Go to /wp-admin/admin.php?page=freemius on your site, and click on “Delete All Accounts” (this will simply clear all Freemius related data on the site)
Please let me know if this works!
And in case you want to read more about Freemius and what data is being shared when opted in: https://freemius.com/wordpress/usage-tracking/259/content-aware-sidebars/
I tried ‘delete all accounts’ as per your instructions, and pushed to the server again, but received the following error messages. I had to deactivate the plugin, push, then reactivate again to get the site back from the white screen!
Warning: fopen(C:/xampp/htdocs/opticolour/wp-content/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/content-aware-sidebars.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4785 Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4788 Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4791 Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php:4785) in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-content/plugins/wp-advanced-pdf/wp-advanced-pdf.php on line 18 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php:4785) in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-login.php on line 396 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-includes/functions.php:4785) in /homepages/29/d154852339/htdocs/alpha/wp-login.php on line 409Sorry for being unclear, I meant that “Delete All Accounts” should be done on the testing server (or any server that you migrate to). Obviously this shouldn’t matter if the database is cloned as well, but the Freemius related data will be regenerated on page refresh.
However, instead of doing that, you could simply run this SQL command on the test server:
DELETE FROM wp_options WHERE option_name LIKE 'fs_%'You might need to switch wp_ with your own table prefix. This command will remove all Freemius related data, so if that doesn’t fix the problem, it might be caused by an incompatibility with another plugin.
All subsequent warnings you have posted should be resolved once we resolve the first one.

Joachim Jensen.
I’ve hit ‘delete all accounts’ on the testing server, turned the debug switch on, which produced a lengthy listing, refreshed the page and noted that there were no errors or warnings displayed.
I am glad that seems to have solved it, and I apologise about the inconvenience.
I have been in contact with the developers of Freemius, and in case you (or anyone reading this) experience similar problems again, you can use this plugin to fix it: https://github.com/Freemius/freemius-fixer
And if you have any other questions about Content Aware Sidebars, please let me know.
Thank you for resolving this; it’s useful to know there is a fixer plugin 🙂
It looks like this will be fixed in the next version of Freemius: https://github.com/Freemius/wordpress-sdk/pull/198
I will mark this thread resolved for now, thanks again for notifying me about it!
I am having the same issue and have done the DELETE FROM wp_options WHERE option_name LIKE ‘fs_%’ directly.
Here’s the error I’m getting (note the /test that’s the old URL):
Warning: fopen(/homepages/12/d272948611/htdocs/test/wp-content/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/content-aware-sidebars.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/12/d272948611/htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4785Warning: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /homepages/12/d272948611/htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4788
Warning: fclose() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /homepages/12/d272948611/htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4791
I’m able to keep my production site up by changing line 1485 from using the variable defined to setting the path without /test.
Meaning, the code as written looks for:
$file = “/homepages/12/d272948611/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/content-aware-sidebars.php”;But this isn’t a real fix. Do you have additional suggestions or did I miss something above?
Nevermind, I went and exported the database one more time, and while I had gotten a success message on the delete SQL, the fs_* rows were still there. I deleted the rows successfully with another approach and the plugin is back on track. Thanks
