    After updating the plugin to 4.0.3 from 3.0.6, I started receiving webhook error emails when users submit forms. When I go back to 3.0.6, it works fine.

    Hey! How are you?

    “CF7 to Webhook” has a built-in feature that detects when a webhook fails and notifies you with this automated email.

    – Form: #1081 – Request Callback

    – Webhook: https://hooks.zapier.com/hooks/catch/12261384/3gpayad/

    – Error: “Webhook returned a error code.”

    Request Method:
    POST

    Request Headers:
    {“Content-Type”:”application\/json; charset=UTF-8″}

    Request Body:
    {“lead-source”:””,”_post_title”:”Postgraduate Certificate”,”_post_url”:”https:\/\/site.com\/courses\/postgraduate-certificate\/”,”your-first-name”:”Johnny”,”your-last-name”:”Reed”,”your-email”:”[email protected]”,”your-phone-number”:”123123123″,”your-country”:”Angola”,”your-website”:””,”your-consent”:”1″}

    Response Code:
    404

    Response Message:
    “Not Found”

    Response Headers:
    {}

    Response Body:
    “please unsubscribe me!”

    You’ll receive one notification for each webhook with errors.
    Other webhooks maybe were successful.

    Please, be careful sharing this data (even in WordPress official support forum).
    It may contain sensitive data.

    Hey. Hi are you?

    As you received a 404 code, your webhook is invalid.

    Please, check with Zapier support.

    Hi Mario,

    On the latest version, it looks invalid because of the error I receive. But when I revert the plugin to v3.0.6, it still works.

    The previous version of the plugin simply didn’t check the webhook response — that doesn’t mean it was working correctly before. The new version now verifies the response and notifies you in case of failure, ensuring more reliable behavior.

    Please note that the webhook might still work even if it returns an incorrect status (anything other than 20X), which is not considered a proper implementation of webhook.

    Will check from Zapier’s end to confirm.
