I’m having the same issue. Interestingly, it’s only with upload to a custom post type. I’ve tried using a Google-created csv, with no change.

    1. I imported your test csv file to standard posts. Everything worked fine.
    2. I used Libre Office to rename some of the headers in your test csv to align with custom field names in my custom post type. The first one is “First Name” (first_name). It is recognized by the importer, and automatically associated with the csv column header. The import creates posts, but does not fill the custom field. It also gives the error “First name is empty.”
    3. I imported the same edited csv file from step 2 to standard posts (to check whether Libre Office had saved in the wrong format). It worked fine.

So, what’s not working is either custom fields, or custom fields in custom post types. I’m creating my custom post types with Pods. The importer recognizes the custom post type, and the custom fields. For some reason, it won’t fill them.

Our free version partially support the Pods plugin.

Our pro version have the full feature to support the PODS plugin custom fields and custom posts.
