Email layouts broken after version update
-
I updated to the latest plugin version this afternoon. After the update, all of my email designs were broken. I rolled back the update until you can fix it.

Hi @themacmaker,
Thank you for sharing those screenshots and letting us know about the issues with your email designs after the latest plugin update. I understand how important it is for your emails to look perfect and consistent.
It appears that the recent update has affected the styling or layout of your email templates, which was not the case in version 10.3.6. To help resolve this, could you please provide the following details:
- Are you using any custom email templates or third-party email customizer plugins?
- Have you tried clearing any caching or inline CSS cache that might be affecting the display?
Meanwhile, I recommend:
- Check WooCommerce → System Status for any template override warnings or plugin update notices
- Test for plugin conflicts by temporarily deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce, then reactivate them one by one
- Switch to a default theme like Storefront temporarily to see if the issue persists
If you’re using any email customization plugins or have custom email templates, those would be the first places to check for compatibility issues.
Lastly, please share your System Status Report on pastebin.com and share the link in your next reply.
I hope that helps. Let us know if you need anything else.
AutomateWoo is sending the emails. Cache cleared many times.
Hi @themacmaker,
I understand your update and appreciate the additional detail about AutomateWoo handling the emails. That gives us a clearer direction. Before we dig deeper, I would like to confirm whether you have had the time to run the plugin conflict test suggested earlier, since conflicts are a common cause of layout issues after updates.
When you can, please also share your WooCommerce System Status Report. You can find it in WooCommerce, Status, then click Get system report and copy it into https://pastebin.com or https://quickforget.com, then share the link here.
Once I have that and know the result of the conflict test, I will take a closer look for you. Let’s see how it goes!
@themacmaker thanks for opening this report!
For some reason, your emails seem to have updated to the new designs, which might have broken any custom templates you had.
Can you try going to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails and, at the bottom of the page, check if there is a Revert to legacy template link?
@aljullu My emails were and are using the Modern templates before the major version update. I don’t want them to use the legacy designs. @lovingbro I just wanted to make the devs aware of the problem, I don’t have time to test & troubleshoot for the conflict. Rolling back to 10.3.6 resolved the issue for me and I’ll stick with that until there’s a deeper investigation and fix on your end.
FWIW, the emails that were affected are all sent with AutomateWoo (the emails in Woocommerce – Settings – Emails for matching emails are disabled). Hope you can figure it out and sorry I don’t have the time to dig in for you!
Thank you for getting back, @themacmaker, and we completely respect your decision. To clarify, AutomateWoo does not use the default WooCommerce email editor—it has its own email template editor and fields. The update must have triggered a compatibility issue.
If you updated WordPress as well there has been quite some report regarding fields and descriptions editor getting messed up which may be related to this as well.
AutomateWoo email templates are independent of the default WooCommerce emails, which means changes in WooCommerce email settings won’t affect AutomateWoo emails, and vice versa. For assistance with this, please consider creating a support ticket with WooCommerce.com, as AutomateWoo is a premium plugin.
