Does it ignore existing webp files I already have? I’ve read that these types of plugins tend to mess up image links with page builders. Have you any experience using it on Elementor sites? Does it actually go into the database and update links to .jpg files to the new webp files in posts and pages? Thank you.

Hi, my plugin overwrites the images and if it changes the name of the image it searches through the articles and the metadata of the articles and changes the name of the image in the text. So yes, the replacement actually goes into the database and updates the links of the images and resized images. I have no idea about Elementor, but it should work.

Hi! So I duplicated my site on my cloudways server for testing with Elementor. I ran the optimizer and then I deleted the originals, just to see what would happen. I can see that all the images have been replaced by webp, and the front end posts and pages all appear to be working properly with no broken links. I do need to report one place where an odd behavior is seen. In Elementor’s Video Playlist widget, I see a lot of missing thumbnail images. When I go to edit the widget, I notice when I click on some images, they still appear in the media library like they’re selected, but they’re not actually selected, And I notice others are completely missing. But that’s really impressive for what this plugin does, very nice work!.

Also, do you have any general suggestion for the Rename settings?

Hi, sorry, I didn’t see your reply.
When a thumbnail is missing, perhaps it is not registered correctly in WordPress, otherwise it should have been replaced with the renamed one.
well, I will study this Elementor widget so I can try to fix this error.

Thanks for the report and the compliments 🙂
