Elementor conflict

updating Attire past 1.5.0 causes conflict with javascript and display of elementor blocks on my site. Staying at 1.5.0 removes the issue. The internal reporting daemon emailed me with this:

Error Details

An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 68 of the file /var/www/html/wp-content/themes/attire/functions.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/var/www/html/wp-content/themes/attire/admin/ThemeEngine.class.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php’)

Hi,
I’ve tried to reproduce the error you mentioned by installing Elementor and Attire in a completely new WordPress site, I couldn’t. The error E_COMPILE_ERROR is most likely related to failed update process.
So I believe you should try to update again and wait for the updated finished message before redirecting to a different page. If automatic update fails for some reason try manually updating.
And please let me know if you still have the problem after a successful update.

Thank you for your timely response.

This has happened when I have updated from any version since 1.5.0- I tried 1.5.1 and 1.5.3 and the update completed successfully each time but still caused the content on the front page not to be displayed. I didn’t ask for support until trying to upgrade several times and having to roll back each time.

For now, it would seem to be most expedient to hold at 1.5.0 until another solution can be found.

I should add- WP 5.5 came out after 1.5.0 was released, and the site has been updated to use it. I am aware that WP 5.5 is causing conflicts with other plugins and themes.

It may be due to changes in how jQuery works in 5.5.
