Editors can’t moderate comments

    Hello, I’m trying to create an account with the Editor role to moderate comments, but when I’m logged into that account, the usual comment moderation options do not appear when I hover over comments with my mouse pointer. Moderating comments with an admin account works as expected. I’ve installed the User Role Editor plugin to check if edtors have the moderate_comments permission, and they do.

    It really sounds like a plugin and/or theme conflict. The easiest thing is to deactivate all plugins and switch to a default theme like TwentyNineteen and see if everything works fine then. If so, then you now know that one or more of the plugins were conflicting and you can reactivate the plugins one at a time to find which one(s) causes the conflict.

    I figured out that Editors can’t answer comments on WooCommerce products. Changing the role to Shop Manager fixed the issue.
