I am using a plugin that puts images in sub-folders within a folder in the uploads directory. When I add the folder containing the subfolders it is not recognizing the images in the subfolders. I tried using a wildcard in the path for the parent folder but that doesn’t work.

What is the best way for the plugin to recognize the images in the subfolders? The subfolders are auto generated every day so i am not able to know the paths ahead of time and they will keep growing.

I don’t know that it’s going to work if the subfolders are different every time. Did you run a bulk optimize after you entered the parent? If so, you could try adding the parent folder and then turning on scheduled optimization to optimize them every hour or so. Also, from the documentation about this:

It is important to enter full file-system paths, not URLs or partial paths. The path to your WordPress folder is given directly above the textarea for this setting as a reference point. So if it says /var/www/wordpress/, then you should enter paths like /var/www/wordpress/wp-content/spiffy-plugin/images/
