• Hi everyone,

I need some help and advice. We run a WooCommerce-based e-shop (https://svitimprotebe.cz/eshop/) where we use The SEO Framework plugin. Besides the published products, we also have around 830 products saved as drafts. These draft products were imported from XML feeds and will be published on the e-shop over time. Some of them are also products we’ve removed from sale.

However, when I check the Redirection plugin for 404 errors, I see that bots are crawling these draft products. This happens because the default setting for draft products in WooCommerce is index/follow/archive. As a result, these draft products are causing 404 errors or increasing the number of non-indexed pages in Google Search Console (GSC).

I was advised to set these products as private, so they wouldn’t be visible to any customers or visitors on the e-shop. Private products would then have the noindex/follow/archive setting.

What do you think about this solution? How do you handle this situation in The SEO Framework plugin?
