    Disappointed Alt Text AI does nothing if your pics are AVIF format. I’ve converted most images on my site to AVIF (from jpg) since the file size is usually 90% smaller than jpeg (after compression).

    Webp is much better than jpg. AVIF is way better than webp.

    I look forward to when Alt Text AI can see an image even if it’s not in jpeg format (or png).

    Thanks for your feedback. Currently, we support JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP; and we understand the increasing demand for AVIF support—we use it ourselves. Advanced our image format compatibility is on our roadmap, with SVG being next-up. AVIF support is something we’re exploring, but as you know, AVIF decoding can be computationally expensive and we want to ensure the best possible experience for our users.
