[NSFW] Does Google's description feature 'dislike' certain characters?

I’d really appreciate some advice of the above topic.

My site currently ranks on Google with the description:

The UK’s number one stripper service. Longest running and most established stripper site in the UK. Female strippers in london. Male strippers in london.

However I’ve been trying to edit this with no success to:

The UK’s #1 Stripper Site | £100 Strippers | Female Strippers | Male Strippers | London | Manchester

As you can see i’ve tried to include a spacer symbol ‘|’ in the description. Could this be why my description has not changed? If not, any ideas how I could get it to update?
