Divi Builder Template for Category Pages

I am using Divi Builder to create templates for Directory pages. It is working fine for the main Directory page – https://totallythriving.online/directory-2/ (apart from floating button on some of the search pages, please ignore that’s a formatting thing).

However, when I create a template specifically for the Category pages, the data does not display (linked in Divi by a ‘Post Content’ module). The data displays fine when the template isn’t used.

Do you know why this conflict is happening and have any fixes? Thank you.

So I set up a template in Divi, which simply is using the ‘Post Content’ module to draw in the directory information (first image). I have tried selecting multiple ‘template assignment’ options in Divi to apply the template to the directory category pages – for example, I will share how I have selected ‘All Directory Category Pages’ for Archive pages (image 3) which applies the template but does not display post content, but other times I have tried to use the general ‘All Directory Category Pages’ (image 2) but this has no effect at all (it posts the directory content with no template). Also I’m confused why the template assignment ‘All Directory pages’ (image 4) is not working for these category pages as I have another template I designed for the main Directory pages which is working, it just does not work for the categories. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for sharing those helpful screenshots.

Everything looks setup correctly in Divi. Do you have the Disable advanced CPT integration option enabled by chance? You can check this by going to Directory > Settings > General > Advanced.

Please check that option and let me know if that helps!

Thanks for the quick reply, for some reason it didn’t register here for me!! I have checked the setting, and it’s currently NOT enabled (so it’s NOT disabling CPT integration). Should it be enabled (ie disabled)? Thanks.

You can certainly try enabling this option to see if that helps.

If not, to determine the root of the problem, I suggest running a conflict test first. You can refer to this article on how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may assist in identifying the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/

I recommend trying this approach, and please let me know your findings.

Well enabling the CPT integration seems to have worked as far as I can tell, unless I’m missing something! So thank you very much!
