Divi 5 content not being read

Hi,

Firstly, this plugin seems great so far, all the extra weight from RankMath or Yoast is gone. Great! However, the main reason I switched away from RankMath was compatibility with Divi 5. I had researched that Slim SEO is fully compatible with Divi 5, however it doesn’t seem to be reading the content (same problem as RankMath).

On a post, the Meta Description field has the automatic “{{ post.auto_description }}”. I’ve linked it to my Claude API and clicking the Generate with AI icon returns the error “Content is required to generate meta description.” – uh oh! So, I’m not sure how to tell if the auto description is being generated without waiting until Google picks it up and then searching for it. My guess is that it’s not being generated though as the character count is “0”.

Any ideas on how I can get this working?

Hi,

We’re working on the integration with Divi 5. Its API changes a lot from v4 to v5 with lots of (technically) blocks. We need to make sure they’re rendered properly without breaking on the frontend.

We’ll release a new version with a fix for this as soon as possible.

Hi – thanks for the response. I’m not sure why I found it was “fully compatible” then, but appreciate your efforts to get it sorted.

If you’re able to update this post when you have made progress I’d be really grateful! But either way, thanks again 🙂

Hi @mattshawuk ,

We fixed this bug and will release a new version with that soon. If you want to apply the patch to your site, you can copy this file and place it in src/Integrations/Divi.php, replacing the existing file.

Hi – thanks so much for addressing this bug.

After patching, it’s still telling me that “Content is required to generate meta description” – but something does seem to be generating anyway. I’ll keep an eye on it and see if it’s sorted.
