    Hello!

I’m experiencing an issue with the thumbnails in the Portfolio section of my WordPress site. I’m using the NextGEN Gallery plugin.

All of the portfolio thumbnails appear heavily distorted (either stretched or cropped), while the first three display perfectly. When I click on the distorted thumbnails and open the actual image page, the photos look fine and are not distorted.

    • This issue appeared a month ago, but I haven’t made any changes to WordPress, the theme, or plugins.

    • The images were uploaded to the site over the past three years at different times. The issue affects both old and new uploads.

    • I checked also if it was the theme problem, switching on a default one but everything was same, so it’s not a theme problem.
The problem appears only on the computers and laptops. From phones and a tablet everything works great.

    1. What could be causing this thumbnail distortion?

    2. How can I fix this issue and restore the correct display of the images?

I would appreciate any help or advice!

  • Hi @vikazz,

    Thanks for reaching out,

Checking from my end, the thumbnail appears to be totally fine on the desktop mode. All the image looks good and is not stretched or cropped like the one you shared in the screenshot above.

In case this helps, please refer to the screenshot here.

Moreover, if the issue still appears on your devices, I recommend checking the site on someone’s devices to confirm the issue persists only on your device.

Let me know the updates and I will get back to you accordingly.

    Thanks!

@barsha05 Hello! I solved the problem with downgrading my Word Press Version. The gallery is working perfectly with the version 6.6.2. And I keep my webpage on this version, 3-4 times I tried to update to the latest version and images were disordered again. From 2 different computers we checked. It happens only on the desktop version. Maybe I need to do some updates idk, can you help me please? I don’t want to keep my site one the oldest version forever:)

    Thank you for your reply.

    Hi @vikazz,

    Thank you for reaching back,

I suspect one of the plugins you’re using might be causing the problem, so please try deactivating all the plugins one by one and check if the problem resolves.

Let me know the updates and I will get back to you.

    Thanks!
