    1) I would like to display some custom text before the directory. I put it in using the page layout, but it displays on the general page, the individual entry page, and the form submission page, but I’d like to have it be customized for each of these pages. Is there a way within the template to set information to be displayed above the listings, like there is with “Content Before” field on the Form page?

    2) I am getting two category dropdown menus. One is the default menu type and one is more stylized with the template. But I’m not sure how to turn one or the other off.

    Sorry, no, there is not a method available to display custom content before the directory in the different views at this time.

    The second drop down is actually being added by the theme. Unfortunately the theme “enhances all drop downs on a page instead of just those it adds to a page. I suggest looking thru the theme options and look for an option to either disable or exclude enhanced dropdowns (perhaps labeled select2 support) and disable this option or exclude the directory page. If you do not see an option, try asking the theme’s support team.
