Today, the discrepancy has changed direction. In the page view summary graph on the dashboard, I see 144 page views on November 4. But, when I display today’s stats, the total page views shows as 34. Something is not right!

    Hi ACEkin,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, and thank you for sharing all the details and screenshots.

Based on my review, I believe the issue may be related to a timezone conversion inconsistency between the charts and the total counters:

    1. Dashboard Charts likely convert timestamps from UTC to your local timezone before grouping the data by day/hour.
    2. Overview Totals, however, may use raw UTC timestamps in their queries without applying timezone conversion.

This means a pageview recorded at 11:30 PM UTC on November 4 might appear as November 5 in your local timezone, leading to mismatched totals and graphs.

Could you please confirm what timezone is currently set under Settings → General → Timezone in WordPress?
I’ll forward the details to our development team for further review.

    Best regards,
    Mehmet

I checked the time zone, and it shows New York as it always has. There are still significant discrepancy between the graph number and the number under At a Glance: 138 vs 68. Another WP statistics plugin is reporting 14 visitors today, not even near 68 or 138.

I am not sure if this is the same issue, but my overview for the previous month shows a dip (zero visits, surely not correct) on 27 August. And since then, the days in statistics got messed up.

There is definitely something awry. This morning, my page views on the graph indicate 186 but on At a Glance, it is 37. Another stat plugin reports the same as 24, but that is probably due to the counting method differences.

One more piece of input, “today” on the graph shows yesterday’s totals. That’s why it probably does not change and disagree with the page count on “At a glance” block.

That is exactly how it looks from my end. There was a one day “hole”, and then all the consecutive days were shifted for one day. So, today’s stats actually shows yesterday’s data. That is what I see when time range is default “Last 4 Weeks”.

However, when I set the time range to “Today” or “Last 7 days”, the data is correct.

Same problem, 0 visitors on 27 October after wintertime started on 26 October, after that the daily numbers are messed up for ‘Last 4 weeks’. My timezone is Amsterdam.

    Hi ACEkin,

Thank you for sharing all the details and screenshots. I’m really sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

We’re aware of the discrepancies you’re seeing between the dashboard graphs and the “At a Glance” totals, and our team is currently investigating the issue. It seems related to how timezones and data grouping are handled, but we’re looking into it more closely to ensure accurate reporting.

We really appreciate your patience while we work on this, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more information.

    Best regards,

For the record, the graph “Pageviews” in the Overview window is off the same way when it displays the last four weeks. I am glad the team is working on it, thanks.

As we suspected, the October 27 (I made a mistake in the post above, it should have read October, not August) and its dip have been removed from the “Last 4 weeks” Overview, and today’s stat in this view now appears fine.

The problem still continues on my site as can be seen in the linked screen capture I have just made. What shows as “Today” is actually yesterday’s numbers. To see the current numbers, I need to go to Overview and select “Today” from the date range. I am hoping for a fix soon.

@acekin, it looks like your stat has a dip on Nov 03. I would guess that you will get a proper overview for 4 weeks sometime in December, assuming no new dip appears by then.

This really looks like a bug to me, and it might affect different sites on a different day (?).

@alabasterized oddly, the dip coincided with the switch from the daylight saving time to standard time. It is a bug indeed and I am hoping for a solution soon.

@acekin, I forgot the DST in the USA was on Nov 03. Here in Europe, it was Oct 27.

So DST probably was not handled properly by the plugin, as @kristiandeimel already guessed.
