Any idea what could be the reason if I can still embed Tweets and videos even after activating “disable embeds”?

Hi

In the classic editor, you can add tweets and videos in another way. This works without the wp-embed.min.js script.
Maybe this is your case?

Thank you for your answer.
Does this also happen if I just put the URL on a new line because this is the case for me. Is there a way to get rid of this?

Sorry for the late reply

Please try temporarily disable all plugins except clearfy. And switch the theme to any default WordPress theme. Will the problem occur?
