Installed the plugin, checked to see if Google Page Speed thought I was leveraging browser caching, it said no.

However, it became nearly impossible to get my browser to recognize changes. Uninstalling didn’t help, I’m guessing the changes made to .htaccess aren’t reverted upon uninstalling the plugin? It’s a mess now. Had to install a cache buster to fix.

Bottom line: it does leverage browser caching, such that browsers will steadfastly ignore any changes you attempt to make, however Google will not recognize this as an optimization.
