Did your Plugin go bad
-
I loved your plugin until it went whack O, I had all pages separated into separate folders so when I update them they will be sorted. Then all the sudden bam all pages are gone out of their folders??? Yes, plugin is on auto to be updated!! I was going to go pro when site was done, but I cannot do it now!! Takes a lot of time separating pages! Otherwise it was a great plugin while it lasted!!!!

We haven’t made any changes to the plugin recently or received any reports of this happening to other people so I’m not aware of anything in the plugin that would case this.
If you’d like to provide some additional details on what happened, I’d be happy to help troubleshoot.
Can you think of anything that changed between the last time the pages were organized into folders and when they weren’t? For example, have you installed any new plugins or made any other changes that could have impacted things? Have you done any migrations, imports, etc.?
Perhaps you’ve already thought of this but do you happen to have any backups of the site? A lot of hosting companies make automatic daily backups. Is it possible your host has a backup that could be restored?
I know it can be really frustrating to lose work. Happy to help try to resolve the issue for you.
Hi
Wow that was fast 🙂 I am constantly working on the website so it would be impossible to install the backup at this point. I’ve been working on this website for a few years due to my health and hubbies, but my latest backup was not recent it was done last month. I have my own server, and my hosting hasn’t done any changes, usually when they make changes, they let me know. I’ve been with them since 2012. I haven’t installed anything other than a maintenance plugin, but all pages were inside their folders last month and few weeks ago. I was checking other folders which I recently edited pages today and dropped in and they are all gone as well???
I really loved the plugin, but now I am really frustrated because it takes allot of time searching for them and dropping them back into folders, only to find out they are gone when checking??

So is the issue still happening? You drag a page into a folder but when you check the folder, it’s not in there?
Do you see a confirmation message in the upper right corner of the screen after dragging a page to a folder that says the page was successfully moved? Or does that not appear?
Any chance you’d be able to make a short video (or take screenshots) to show what’s happening?
Hi
Yes it is still happening, I do always get the green notice in right upper corner letting me know it was a success, but when I go to another folder there’s nothing and then I go back to that same folder I just left the pages are missing but has how many pages which were to be in that folder, but no pages???
I’ve checked several and there are no pages in any of the folders and ones in which I edited today they are gone???
I have to go get an MRI of my back in am, I’ll try to send one after I return. If, that is ok??? Should I try to remove the plugin and reinstall??? Would that help??? I Checked plugins and I do not see any problems, they are updated, and I do have a couple I have deactivated until the site goes live! I do appreciate the fast response that puts a smile on my face, that means you care!!!!
That’s really strange. I don’t think removing and re-installing the plugin would help but you could certainly try it just to be sure.
Here are some other things you could try as well:
- It’s always good to rule out a plugin conflict. You can do that by temporarily deactivating all other plugins to see if the issue goes away. If it does, that likely indicates there’s a conflict with another plugin
- Something else that could provide some insights would be to open the browser’s developer tools (normally F12), click on the Network tab, drag a page to a folder, click on the request that appears after moving the page, click on the Response tab, and take a screenshot of the response message. That may provide a clue on if there’s an error
Let me know what you find out. If you’re able to make a video, that could be really helpful to see the issue first-hand.
I thought of something else to check, especially since you mentioned you are searching for pages. When you view a folder, it will show you the pages in that folder; however, if you do a search while that folder is selected, it will only show you pages that are in the folder and that match the search.
For example, imagine this scenario:
- You click on “All Folders” to see all pages
- You search for “cat”. Let’s say the search returns 2 pages and you move those pages to a folder named “Cats”
- Now you search for “dog”. Let’s say it returns 1 page and you move it to a folder named “Dogs”
- Now if you switch to the “Cats” folder, the pages will still be filtered by the search for “dog”. Assuming the 2 pages you originally placed in the folder don’t match the search, the folder will appear empty (even though it shows an item count of 2). You can see the pages in the folder by clearing the search
Anyways, not sure if that might be what’s happening but, based on your description, it sounded like it could be a possibility so I thought I’d mention it.
Just following up on this to see if you’ve had a chance to check if what I described in the last comment may explain the issue you’re having. Let me know.
I wanted to follow up on this again. I’d love to get to the bottom of this issue and get it fixed for you. Thank you!
