  • Hello, I have the same problem, very annoying !!
However, I have found a workaround: The deleted files are still stored under
    <your address>/wp-content/gallery/<your galley> and the corresponding thumb under /thumbs.

Nevertheless this is a major error and should be solved asap.

Same problem with me, I ask to the support robot, this is the answer it gave to me, but the 4.0.3 does not have this menu.

    The answer:

I use Imagely plugin for wordpress since many years now for our photo club, a non profit organisation. In the preceding version, a setting permit to erase file, but with the last version I do not find this setting and deleted files stay in folder, where is now this setting?

In the latest version of the NextGEN Gallery plugin, the setting to delete image files when a gallery is deleted can be found under Gallery > Other Options > Image Options. There, you will see an option labeled Delete Image Files?. If this setting is enabled (set to ‘YES’), all images will be permanently deleted from the server when you delete the gallery. If you want to keep the images on your server after deleting the gallery, you can set this option to ‘NO’.

Make sure to check this setting to ensure that your files are being managed according to your preferences. For more detailed instructions, you can refer to the Imagely documentation.Sources

    Hi @letsgoshooting, @mariogroleau, @musikus061152,

I apologize for the delayed response.

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for any inconvenience you experienced.

To clarify, there was an issue where NextGEN Gallery wasn’t deleting image files even if the “Delete Image Files?” option under the legacy “NextGEN Gallery > Other Options > Image Options” was set to “Yes”. This issue has been resolved in NextGEN Gallery 4.0.5.

If you need to access the deprecated Imagely settings, follow these steps:

    1. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Add this query string to the end of your website URL: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=imagely-settings&tab=hidden, and press enter. Your URL should look like this: https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=imagely-settings&tab=hidden.
    3. To access the Legacy version, toggle the button and refresh the page: https://a.supportally.com/i/wfvnnH

Please note that these are deprecated settings, and our support will be limited for issues related to them.

I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out with any more questions.

    Thanks! 🙂
