Once Wordfence is installed and configured, does it need CREATE TABLE, ALTER TABLE, DROP & TRUNCATE database privileges to run? I’m wanting to limit privileges to SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE & DELETE (except when running updates).

    Thanks!

Hello @daveyp and thanks for reaching out to us!

I personally haven’t tested this but that is a good question. I recommend leaving the permissions at what they are when installed, just to keep things working properly.

If you do decide to test this with fewer privileges, let me know the results.

    Thanks again!

Just to confirm that WF does occasionally need more than SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE & DELETE. Adding DROP, CREATE & ALTER ON seems to be the least privileges needed to run (with the caveat that WordPress might need more privileges when applying updates).
