    Hi Alice @gatehousedesign

Usually, the file admin-ajax.php should never be blocked by any hosting provider, if they do this you should ask them to unblock this file.

First of all, you need to find out if the admin-ajax.php is blocked or if it’s just a regular javascript error.

To do so open the Google Chrome console by pressing F12. Then go to the network tab and open the customizer of the staging site.

Do some changes and try to save them. Then watch out carefully if you see any red colored items there.
If nothing is red it should be looking like that one http://take.ms/MXwu8

If there are some items red, please let me know the names of them. You get more information when you hover with the mouse over them.

Next, open the tab Console and reload the optimizer page. If there are red-colored lines please create a screenshot of them for me. Anything red here is mostly some kind of javascript error.

    Who is your hosting provider?

Thanks for your quick reply. The customizer started working again. I have no explanation as to why. Possibly a plugin conflict. Not sure. Anyway I am enjoying using the staging plugin. Thanks.
