Some ideas you can try:
– Turn off, or empty any caching methods you might be using. That includes completely emptying your browser cache, and test for any difference in behaviour
– Switch to a different browser for a moment and see if the symptom is the same. If yes..
– Deactivate all of your active plugins and try again. If the result is the same,
– Switch to a different theme (preferably the default WordPress theme) and try again.
Please don’t post in the Alpha/Beta forum unless you’re actually testing the alpha/beta version of WordPress (not a plugin or a theme). Also, once WordPress has released a version, it’s not appropriate to post in alpha/beta and you should post in the How To & Troublshooting forum:

This post has been moved out for you.
Sorry I posted in the wrong place! I’ve never had an issue with WordPress itself before, and had a little trouble finding the appropriate forum.
In any case — I’ve been using Chrome, but clearing the cache did not help. However, I was able to successfully access the Customize page using Internet Explorer. (I’m having other issues with that browser, like buttons overlapping configuration options, but it’s usable.) So clearly it’s a browser problem. Thanks for the suggestion!
