Custom DB problem when migrating to new server

    Just migrated the wp site to a new server reasonably ok.
    Trouble was that the SlimStat plugin didn’t work on the new server (Ubuntu14.04)but I’ve been there before so reloaded the SlimStat plugin (4.1.8) and all working ok.
    I have been using the Custom DB addon for quite a while now with no trouble at all. When I transferred I kept all the db configurations the same ie db name, user and password so as to try to do a seamless transfer. The addon although showing in the addons page (with correct license) did not connect with the database allocated. Tried to reload the addon and also the SlimStat plugin, entered the correct lenience details but still no inputs available to put the DB details.
    I also noticed the the addon was at 1.3 whereas the repo version is 1.3.5 and there seems no way of updating the addon.
    Sorry Camu but been on this now for 2 days and just going in circles so any help appreciated
