Custom changes won’t save

I recently changed to your Ocean WP theme and cannot get some of the custom changes, specifically the background color and the menu font to change when published. I selected the background color in both General Options: General Styling and in General Settings and it still won’t change to the color.

Please don’t ask me to load Ocean Extra, I did and it slowed down my site considerably so I disabled it.
