Cron Bug Filebase Pro

Our current version of this Filebase Pro is generating files up to a rate of 1 every 5 minutes. The files are called “sync.php?cron_sync=1&key=d9016f40710183f45dff9d260ba79a35.119152” (the numbers are different for each one) and places them at the root of the hosting server. There are over 200,000 of them. Are these safe to delete? Does anyone know if the new version fixes this particular bug? We are planning on updating to WP 4.4.2 and getting the updated version of Filebase if it addresses the bug.
