cookie policy: keyboard navigation not possible

Hi,

the European Accessibility Act has become legally binding in Germany in June 2025. I have now discovered that the cookie policy document created by complianz cannot be navigated by keyboard.

The problem is in chapter 7.1 of the cookie policy (this chapter does only show up without “Do not track” setting), where it should be possible to check/uncheck the cookie consent for marketing cookies. It is possible to check/unckeck by mouse, but it is NOT possible by keyboard (usually with the space bar). Instead, the info about marketing cookies expands/collapses when the spacebar is invoked.

thanks for the fast reply!

I can see in the video that you managed to check the checkbox for marketing cookies, but which key did you use? The spacebar (blank) did not work, but afaik the spacebar is the usual key for activating checkboxes.

When I try it, the spacebar (and return key as well) just expands/collapses the description, so it must be another key…

Hello @dillhausen ,

As shown in Aert’s video, you do need to press the spacebar on the checkbox. However, the element must be highlighted first, which you can recognize by the outline around it. Hi,

I apologize for having wasted your time! I had focus on the whole line and not the checkbox, I would have needed another tab key to set focus on the checkbox…so stupid!
