• Hi,

I have the ActivityPub plugin on my site, and I’m using the content and link values as a custom setting under the content section of the plugin’s settings. I have two questions: First, is there something or some particular values I should set to allow only the note post kind to publish, or, if not, the second option: Are there values I should use for post kinds that do not scrictly speaking have content except for the post kind properties content? I use most of the other post kinds and not just notes, and have had a report from a follower that most only show a link. I’ve disabled the plugin for now until I can resolve this. Thanks in advance.

It is currently not possible to only post specific post-formats, but it is a good idea, I will think about that.

The problem with “only the title and the link” might be because you are using “Article” or “WordPress Post Format” as “Activity-Object-Type” setting or you use “Title and Link” in the “Post-Content” settings. Let me know if there is something unclear on the settings page, then I will use your feedback to build it more accessible!

    Hi Matthias,

I have post-content setting set to the default (content), and the activity-object-type set to note. So I’m assuming that if there’s nothing in the content field of the edit post screen, then nothing will be published via ActivityPub? Definitely thing that being able to map post kinds to objects would be a good idea, but if there’s a way to accomplish this outside the plugin, like through .htaccess, that would be fine too. I think it’s mostly accessible but will go in and fork this on Github to provide some assistance there if you’d like.

As to controlling what gets pushed, I think it would be great to tap into WordPress taxonomies for that — e.g. everything gets pushed by default, but the ActivityPub settings page might have a setting to exclude posts with a certain tag or category, or alternatively, to only push items with that tag/category.
