Hi

I have made a page with testimonials which is also a feature excerpt (one of three) on the homepage.

The text excerpt on the homepage is taken from the testimonials page but I need to control it as the text on the homepage contains everything from the start, in this case a persons name and job title.

Looks fine on the testimonials page but looks bad on the homepage.

Also is there a way to control the length of the homepage excerpt?

Try using the  tag. Make sure you are in the Text editor and not the Visual editor when you are editing your testimonial post, then at the point where you want the excerpt to end, insert . The more tag won’t show up in your post, and it should output everything in the post up to the tag in the post excerpt.

Thanks a lot!

That worked to shorten the excerpt but I still have the name and job of the person giving the testimonial as it is at the top of the page!

Anyway around this if not I guess I could move the name a nd job yitle below the excerpt but wouldn’t look very good!

Hi Again

Also the blog option (far right image on homepage) wont show an excerpt as the page is a “posts page” mmmm

Guess I could put something else there but would prefer the blog.
