However, have you considered using a membership plugin? This allows you to protect the content and once they subscribe or register to your site, they then have access to the protected content. Once they are logged in, they are then redirected to the page where they can make some donations and also have access to other protected content.

Then you can integrate Simple Membership plugin with our other plugin WP Express Checkout.

WP Express Checkout plugin has a feature to create donation buttons. Once you have both plugins, it will give you different ways to tackle what you are trying to achieve.
