Conflicting with FontAwesome icons

Hi there,

Recently, as a result of the Menu Icons plugin being installed on the GoodLayers Infinite theme, almost all icons that are included using FontAwesome are disappearing from the site. (They just show up as blank spots or error boxes. See linked webpage or screenshot here.)

I reached out to the developers of the Infinite theme, who have helped resolve conflicts with the Menu Icons plugin in the past, and after trying to fix it they eventually replied with:

Please ask the author plugin of Menu Icons an option to disable the fontawesome in their plugin and it should work again.

Is there any way you guys could push an update that helps resolve the conflict between usages of FontAwesome icons? Let me know if there is any other additional information that is needed. Thanks!

Hello @emite,

You can disable the Font-Awesome icons by going into Appearance > Menus > Menu Icon Settings and un-check the Font-Awesome Checkbox. https://vertis.d.pr/GEz3lI

Any other suggestions on how to do this?

I reported this issue to our developers to see what can be done about it. In the meantime, could you please check if rolling back the plugin to the previous version fixes the issue?

Hey @luciamarinescu!

It looks like using the “Rollback to v0.12.10” button in the Plugins page does resolve the issue with Menu Icons, so that is a good workaround in the short-term!

I suppose whatever is causing the issue must have been introduced in the most recent update to Menu Icons. Hopefully you guys can narrow it down so that you can fix it for the next update!
