Hello, I am using the Oceanwp theme and want to use the Elementor comment widget rather than the default WP/theme comments. However, I can’t disable just the default comments and, as a result, I have 2 comments boxes on each page.

I Googled the issue and found some custom CSS that worked for someone else but it didn’t work for me as it disabled ALL comments not just the default comments box.

Is there a way to override the default comments so only the Elementor comment widget appears on the page? Turning it off in the discussion settings turns off all comments so doesn’t help.

    Thank you

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • If you are using the Post Comments widget, then that widget should only be used on a Single Post template. If you are using a Single Post template, then that should be replacing the theme’s post template, and you shouldn’t end up with two comment sections. Also, if you are using this, then you must be using Pro. Since you are using Pro, you’ll need to open a support ticket at my.elementor.com. WordPress.org rules state that commercial products are not supported here.

If you aren’t using Elementor Pro, and you have a Comments widget, then you must be using a 3rd-party comment widget. If so, you’d need to get in touch with that plugin’s support to help solve this issue.
