Could you let us know how this /comments/feed/ page is generated?
Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.
Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

Could you check if this issue still occurs with just a default WP theme, and only Yoast SEO as the plugin activated?

I added a function to display the comments-feed link in our footer.php
It worked and I saw that the link of the feed has moved to:
https://message-for-you.net/en/comments/feed/
we also have https://message-for-you.net/de/comments/feed/
and https://message-for-you.net/comments/feed/ (this one is still not working)
We use Polylang with 3 languages. I think YOAST has done some changes to the slug.
i can change the links to the de- and en-feed. But where do I find the third languages (site language, en_US which we use for a mix of other languages)

Thanks for providing more clarification.
You mentioned using three languages for the feeds. I assume DE (https://message-for-you.net/de/comments/feed/) and EN (https://message-for-you.net/en/comments/feed/). Can you share what the third language is? On your website, I see Multilingual, English and German/Deutsch. As far as I know, multilingual does not represent a particular language.
You may also consider reaching out to Polylang to get a better insight as to how comment feeds are managed by the plugin.

Hey sorry for late reply,
the third language is “Multilingual”. We use it for everything that is not english or german. It has the languages Code EN_US
It is handled as a “normal” language in Polylang. The commentsfeed has no EN or DE in the slug. I think that is, because it is the standard languages of the website.
