I love the new album system, but I’m trying to figure out how to combine it with tag filters. For example, I want to show all “Wedding” galleries under one album but also let visitors filter photos by location or photographer. Is it possible to add filter buttons inside an album view? It would be a huge improvement for user experience. If not, maybe there’s a shortcode workaround to merge album and tag functionality? Any guidance would be appreciated.

It depends on the gallery type you’re using, because each type supports different navigation modes. In the latest version, the gallery can work with:

    – Navigation Menu
    – Breadcrumbs
    – Albums
    – Tags Mode (can be switched on instead of albums)

If you want to combine albums and tag filters inside the same view, the best option is to use the Navigation Menu with Tags Mode. This lets you display tag-based filters at the top of the gallery, even when your galleries are organized inside albums. Visitors can open an album (e.g., “Wedding”), and then switch to tag navigation (e.g., “Italy”, “Outdoor”, “Photographer A”) for smoother filtering.

Right now, there’s no shortcode that merges album view + tag buttons in one interface at the same time. You can switch between these modes, but they can’t be shown simultaneously.

If you tell me which gallery type you’re using, I can suggest the best configuration or walk you through setting up tags mode for that album.
