• I discovered a problem on a site that was generating 1000s of 404 errors. I believe I have fixed this but my 404 log, set to keep for a week, had over 66,000 entries and was nearly 50 MB. The table wp_redirection_404 has over 63,000 rows.

Changing the Option setting to ‘A day’ has reduced the log down to just over 3,000 items but the database table is still as big.

What’s the best and quickest way to clear out the database table with such a large number of entries?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The size of your database table in MB, and the number of entries, is not always connected. You can empty the table (let them expire, select all delete, or TRUNCATE), but the database may still report the space as being used as its pre-allocated the space. Unless you have a specific reason, I wouldn’t worry about it, and just let your database do its thing.
