clean and simple but my WordPress dashboard got stuck

Turned on the “coming soon” mode easily but after a while could not work any more on my website.

In tha backoffice could not see any MEDIA, only grey boxes instead of image miniatures and the Jetpack plugin reported an error connecting to the site.

If I tried to go to your-site.com/xmlrpc.php (replace with your actual domain) only the “maintenance mode” showed up instead of the normal message: “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only”.

Could you please fix this? Even allowing access to almost anyone in the preferences did not work: only disabling the plugin and going back to the good old “Nifty Coming Soon & Maintenance page” worked.
