The changelog is available in the plugin as a changelog.txt , as recommended ( https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-org/how-your-readme-txt-works/ )
I don’t understand how I can link the changelog from the readme. The readme is fetched directly from the repository and has no idea where to point (host) to the changelog.txt
On the link that you posted you can find the link to a sample readme.txt: https://wordpress.org/plugins/readme.txt
There you can see a line that is missing in your readme.txt:
== Changelog ==
The best practice is to add the changes of the recent versions to that section, so users can read it directly in WordPress, before pressing update and without having them to find the changelog.txt on SVN.
The changelog is working now, but the last 2 updates haven’t been added, so you still need to tweak your workflow a bit…
Yes, I’m not updating every little change of this plugin especially considering that some are made to accomodate the behaviour of the premium extensino without modifying the behaviour of the free plugin
